Moran is a plant scientist with extensive experience in developing new plant clones, engineering metabolic pathways, and advancing plant‑based production systems. Over the course of her career, she worked with multiple startup companies, contributed patented innovations in plant biotechnology, and helped translate scientific concepts into practical, scalable solutions.
Moran’s scientific foundation was shaped during her postdoctoral research at the Weizmann Institute of Science and the Volcani Center. There, she used metabolic engineering and coordination of complex research program across three laboratories to improving plant fragrance and flavor. This work combined molecular biology, plant physiology, and analytical chemistry using my ability to manage multidisciplinary scientific efforts.
In industry, Moran held senior leadership roles including Head of Field Trials at Metabolic Insights, VP R&D at ReaGenics, and Chief Scientist at ProLeafEra. In these positions, she led R&D strategy, guided product development, and oversaw both laboratory and field‑scale programs. Her work has supported the development of new plant varieties, optimized production of valuable metabolites, and advanced molecular farming platforms for protein and compound extraction.
Nowadays, Moran acts as an expert in plant science, molecular farming, and plant‑based extraction processes. She helps companies establish R&D labs, design and refine plant production systems, improve yields of proteins and secondary metabolites, and build robust scientific and operational frameworks for plant‑derived products. Her goal is to enable organizations to fully leverage plants as efficient, scalable biological factories.
